The IELTS Test

The International English Language Testing System (IELTS) is a globally recognized English language test. IELTS has a reputation as a test of quality and integrity. IELTS Test format

Candidates are tested in Listening, Reading, Writing and Speaking. All candidates take the same Listening and Speaking Modules. If you are planning to undertake academic study, it is recommended that you sit for the Academic Reading and Writing Modules. If you are planning to undertake non-academic training, it is recommended that you sit for the General Training Reading and Writing Modules. All four Modules are completed in one day.

IELTS is jointly managed by The University of Cambridge Local Examinations Syndicate (UCLES), British Council and IDP Education Australia: IELTS Australia.

Value of the IELTS Test

IELTS is accepted by Citizenship and Immigration Canada as an acceptable way to evaluate the English language level of applicants for immigration to Canada. Consequently, IELTS preparation is one of the first steps for immigrants to Canada.
